Welcome to Long Field Spencer Academy
Long Field Spencer Academy is a successful, vibrant and friendly place for pupils and staff alike. Ours is a modern, forward-thinking school which embraces new opportunities within teaching and learning as well as offering a wealth of excellent extracurricular opportunities, some of which are unique to our school. Long Field joined the Spencer Academies Trust in 2015 and Mr Haggett our Head teacher started at the same time.
The school was recently recognised again by OFSTED as good and provides a perfect balance of exciting teaching and learning with a wide range of support for our students combined with exciting opportunities beyond the curriculum. The school is small compared to most comprehensives and this ensures that all students are really well looked after and are well equipped for life in our World today.
We are also proud to work with the community of Melton Mowbray. We are committed to excellence in the education we provide but also in the care and support we give to pupils and their families. We look forward to welcoming you to the school.

Annual photo of Mr Haggett at the end of the, rather wet, final day picnic. Still a few more bits to tell you about over the last few days but if you are going on holiday today, have a lovely time! @satrust_ @meltontimes pic.twitter.com/o1PT69oBme
Good progress today on ‘Spinning with Saj’. @satrust_ @meltontimes @meltonsports @MeltonBelvoir pic.twitter.com/Su03FNGuD7
The final day tomorrow is a non uniform day. Don’t forget your snacks for the picnic in the afternoon. Looking forward to you seeing the film! @satrust_ @meltontimes pic.twitter.com/4HHdUaVRlV
*TEAPOT* A teapot for our wonderful Teaching assistant - Miss Evatt-Baxter. She will be leaving us soon to study Criminology with Forensic Psychology at University so we thought a Sherlock Holmes teapot was the perfect choice. Thanks for all you do! @satrust_ @meltontimes pic.twitter.com/kWKWbFvZvy
